Still sitting in bed on a Saturday morning, drinking my coffee and on my computer. Obviously. It feels so great to RELAX. Not have to get up early or think about scheduling my life around an Army sporting event. It is great to know I can have time to myself, to get myself organized for ME. I have a feeling this is how it's going to be for the majority of the summer. I really want to focus on ME time, get into a routine before the madness of the school year starts. Because I know, once the cadets get back, once August rolls around and I start grad school, once football season starts and Young Life picks back up again I'm going to be wishing I had these days back in my life, days of rest and relaxation. Yes, will be productive during these 'lazier days', but I have the freedom to take my time on the productivity.
I am so blessed to have the life that I have, to be able to do the very things I want to do right now. I have a great job that I love IN THE FIELD I graduated it! I get to be on Young Life staff. How cool is that? I had toyed around with it, but now doing it part time will give me a taste of the real thing. Is this something I would want to do full time? Possibly. I would still love to mix full time ministry with working in sports, something very possible. Honestly, I would want to do that in the future when I have a husband who will support me and work along side me in the ministry I've been called to. That will come later, I know. This is just a preparation for that wonderful future ahead.
I get to enjoy running, having the time to suddenly go "hey, I think I'll go for my run right now" instead of being "hey, it's 5:05 the exact time I've scheduled my run into my schedule" The joy of being able to go out on my own for a run, with just my iPod and a route is so exciting to me. I can't wait to find various routes this summer. Like at the lakehouse for 4th of July weekend. Or at Saranac YL Camp in August. Even back home in July for Sara's wedding. So many adventures are laid out this summer, so many places to go see and things to do.
I want to go up to New Hampshire and Maine and camp one weekend. I want to go down to DC and visit my great friend Jac. I need to go down to North Carolina and visit Allison. Go to all the MLB ballparks in the area (that will be a cool trip). Mariners come up and play Boston end of August, already on my calendar to go up there. Going to Yankee Stadium end of June with the boys come play the Yanks, just like how I grew up with my dad, going to Mariners vs Yankees games at home, this time it's the opposite!
This summer is going to be a summer to remember, a summer of adventure and freedom. So.....let's get this thing started!!!
