I love these two words, and believe they are a perfect fit for someone walking with Christ. It is a challenge. Living a life of faith is hard work, it's not something that's easy or simple. This life is also about adventure. It's not about sitting around waiting for God to do miracles in your life, but taking each day as it's own adventure and living for Him.
This has been my life the past few months. Challenges and adventures. I love James for this and go back to this book of the Bible again and again. James 1:2-5 says "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you shshould ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." I love this. We need to consider trials a joy and approach them with a joyful heart, because if we approach them with a hard heart that trial is going to be so much harder to get through. Faith gets tested every day and it's a matter of the reaction to that test.
Adventure is such a great thing. Being a Christian shouldn't be boring, it should be about just attending church and doing good things and being nice to people. God meant for us to have adventures, to live life how it's meant to be lived. He created a path for each one of us and it's up to us to follow that path best we can. I believe God created a sense of adventure in me and is using that as a tool to share His testimony, Jesus' life and His love for me and for others. By answering the call to adventure, I could be reaching others who may have not been reached. Yes, this can be challenging sometimes, especially when you're on a vacation adventure and He decides you need to share your faith...ahhh scary! But answer the call and be brave.
Let the challenges and adventures come as they may!
