True test

I talked to my 16 year old sister yesterday on the phone, she had just gotten back from Young Life's Washington Family Ranch camp in Oregon. Ironically, this is the very same camp I attended exactly 10 years ago this week, where I gave my life to Jesus, on a rock outside the clubroom during the 15 minutes of silence (I think it was 20 back then). Hearing her talk about how much she enjoyed camp, all she got out of it and how God worked not only in her own life but in her friends lives just gave me such joy that I can share this great life with her. What an amazing young woman she is. I am so in awe of her love and her faith in Christ. I know she has a lot to grow into, and she has a lot to learn, but she has such a heart to share her love, I can hear it in her voice.

During our talk I was asking her about how she enjoyed camp. Basically the things I knew went on during a Young Life camp, and the things I remember about that specific camp. My favorite was when we talked about the ropes course. Now, this camp is situated between giant rolling hills in the middle of what is basically a desert. Meaning no forest, no giant trees to house a ropes course. With this, the course is up in the middle of a bunch of telephone poles essentially. Giant, 40 foot poles stuck in the ground. Add wind to this equation and if you're slightly nervous about heights to begin with this can be absolutly terrifying. Haley talked about this experience, and being freaked at the second post when she had to do the tightrope, then at the end when she had to jump. She told me she had to sit down and schooch off the ledge to get down.

Well baby sister, this is me at camp last summer...AS A LEADER. Take a leap of faith kiddo, it will change your life
